Let's be honest, figuring out what to wear for a photoshoot can be a bit of a headache. You want to look professional, but not stuffy. Approachable, but not sloppy. And you definitely don't want to look back at those photos in a few years and wonder, "What was I thinking?!"
So, how do you strike the right balance? Don't worry, I've got you covered.
The 3-Outfit Rule
I've found that the sweet spot for most brand photoshoots is 3 outfit options. This gives you enough variety without overwhelming you (or your closet). Here's a breakdown of the 3 looks I recommend:
The "Keynote Speaker" Look:
Imagine you're giving a presentation to a packed room. What would you wear? This is your chance to shine! Think of a polished version of your professional best. For most people, this means dress pants and a blouse with a blazer, or a suit for men. The key here is to look confident and authoritative.

The "Client Meeting" Look:
Now, picture yourself meeting with a client. You want to look approachable and put-together, but not overly formal. A sweater with slacks or nice denim is a great option for most people. This look strikes a balance between professionalism and approachability.

The "Casual & Confident" Look:
This is where your personality can really shine! Choose an outfit that reflects your personal style while still looking polished and professional. Jeans and a nice top are a classic choice, but feel free to add your own flair with accessories or layers. The goal here is to show your audience who you are outside of the boardroom.

Color Me Confident
When it comes to choosing colors, take a look at your brand and logo for inspiration. Most people look great in jewel tones and warm neutrals. Avoid neon colors, logos, and heavy patterns, as these can be distracting and date your photos quickly.
Don't Worry, I've Got Your Back!
I know that choosing outfits can be stressful, so I'm here to help! During your Brand Strategy Session, we'll review your outfit options together and I'll provide guidance the day of your photoshoot to make sure you look your best. Many clients arrive with several options, and we choose what looks best on camera together.
Bonus Tip: Don't forget about shoes and accessories! These can really elevate your look and add personality to your photos.
